MISSION
The purpose of the Recreation Commission to promote the general welfare of the community by providing recreational activities for children and other citizens of the Town of Woodstock.

MEETING SCHEDULE
The full Recreation Commission meets monthly, usually on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. See the blue Calendar tab (above) for upcoming meetings. Special Subcommittee meetings are scheduled as needed. Agendas and minutes are available at the Town Hall and on this website. Meetings are open to the public.
MEMBERSHIP
The Recreation Commission is a five member group created by the Board of Selectmen. The terms of office are two years running concurrently with the Board of Selectmen each municipal election.

RECREATION NEWS
New Recreation Park Facility: Located on Senexet Village Road (Behind the Beeches Real Estate off Route 171): Soccer field, walking trail, and basketball court. For more information contact the Recreation Department.
ONGOING PROGRAMS
TODDLER TIME: September 12, 2011 through June 4, 2012. Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Free program 2 Mondays per month from 10:30am to 11:15am. Children from birth to 4 years old - Singing, dancing with hand instruments, stories and crafts. Contact the Recreation Director to register.
2012 Recreation Programs & Trips
Adult Co-Ed Volleyball: Monday evenings at 7:30 pm from February 27 - June 11 at the Woodstock Academy Field House. $10.00 per person (annual fee) Must be 18 years old and over to play!
Zumba: Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class. Thursday Evenings May 3, 10, 17, & 24 (4 classes). Classes held at Woodstock Middle School Gym from 6pm - 7pm. Cost: $30 pp (Non-Residents Welcome). All new and former Zumba Participants will also get one free class on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 6pm - 7pm at the Woodstock Elementary School.
Beginner's Running Class: Learn pace, form and other running techniques for people who have always wanted to run but didn't think they could or would enjoy it. Each class will end with stretch/yoga specific to runners. Friday evenings on May 11, 18 and 25, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. at the Woodstock Town Hall (rear parking lot). $30 per person.
2012 Woodstock Memorial Day 10K Road Race: Monday, May 28, 2012 --- Starting time 9:00 AM Sharp. Race day registration at Woodstock Academy closes at 8:30 AM. Pre-Registration Fee before April 30 is $15.00, after April 30 is $20.00. All registered runners will receive a T-Shirt (shirt size request will be ordered for Pre-Registered Participants ONLY by April 30. Random sizes will be available on a first come first serve basis to those registering after April 30 and at Registration on Race Day.

2012 Summer Twilight Concert Series: Sunday, July 15th @ 7:00 PM, kick off the season with the "Stephanie Hansen Band" and their "Down Home Barefoot" Country Style music. Friday, July 20th @ 7:00 PM enjoy "the little BIG BAND"; a 15-piece Contemporary Swing Band. Finish out the series on Friday, July 27th @ 7:00 PM with "The Windham Concert Band". This 70-piece concert band is a sure crowd pleaser performing their popular show tunes, folk songs, marches and overtures. All are held on the lawn at Roseland Cottage and are free of charge. Zumba Summer Session: Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 7:00 PM, beginning June 13th thru August 8th (no class on July 4th) at the Woodstock Town Hall. Cost is $30 per person for 4 classes, $45 per person for 6 classes, and $60 for 8 classes. Drop In Rate is $10 per class. Pre-Registration is preferred.
Skateboarding Clinic - www.goskate.com: Saturday, June 23rd from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Senexet Village Basketball Court, Woodstock. The cost per person is $45. Beginner/Intermediate ages 6 - 14. Classes will be divided into age groups and skill levels. You will learn tricks like ollies, 360 flips, boardslides and lots more. Bring your skateboard, helmet, protective gear and water and get ready for a ride!
Summer Art Lessons: Lessons are for children ages 10 to 15 to learn how to draw Character Creations, Cartooning, and Still Life & Drawing. Your child may participate in all or any combination of sessions. Classes will be held at the Woodstock Town Hall, Room 1 (lower level). Students are encouraged to bring a drink and snack.
Town Beach Swimming Lessons: Session I is July 9 - 20, and Session II is July 23 - August 3. Fees for Woodstock residents are $25 for the first child and $15 for each additional child per family. Fees for non-Woodstock residents is $30 per child. Open registrations will be held on June 4 and June 18 from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Woodstock Town Hall.
2012 Bus Trips 
Lake Winnipesaukee Cruise: Saturday, August 4, 2012, Motor Coach departs Woodstock Town Hall (415 Route 169) at 8:30 a.m. and returns at 6:00 p.m. Cost is $70.00 per person. Sail Mount Washington and cruise Lake Winnipesaukee. A buffet lunch is included as you sail. In addition, you will have time to explore the Kellerhaus Candy Shop in Weirs Beach, NH.
Bourne Scallop Festival & Cape Cod Canal Cruise: Saturday, September 22, 2012, Motor Coach departs Woodstock Town Hall at 9:00 a.m. and returns at approximately 6:30 p.m. Cost is $60 per person and includes Festival Admission, Round Trip Motor Coach Transportation, Scallop or Chicken Dinner and 90 Minute Cape Cod Canal Cruise.
New York City Bus Trip: Saturday, November 24, 2012, Motor Coach departs Woodstock Town Hall (415 Route 169) at 6:30 a.m. and returns at approximately 9:30 p.m. Cost is $40 per person (does not include driver gratuity). Explore the "Big Apple" during the most wonderful time of the year by visiting Rockefeller Center, theaters, restaurants, museums, shopping and sightseeing!

COMMUNITY CLEAN UP DAY ON WALKING TRAILS
Woodstock held a Community Clean Up Day at our new Recreation Park Walking Trails. Nine volunteers work from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the woods, collecting two Town dump truck loads of old glass, rusty car and truck parts, tires, barrels and other trash on April 10, 2010. Volunteers included Jeff Bartolomie, Zack Bartolomie, Christopher Bates, Laura Burke, Mackenzie Cooney, John Navarro, and Karen Fitzpatrick of Woodstock, Emily Navarro of Pomfret, and Thomas Hull of Brooklyn.
