FREE BULKY WASTE WEEKEND MAY 30-31: Limited to one load per permit.

Transfer Station Updated Hours: The Transfer Station will be open Tuesdays from 10-2 and Saturdays and Sundays from 9-3. Brush and leaf drop off ends one hour before the transfer station closes. 

June 1st Transfer Station Hours: New Hours starting June 1st, 2020. 10 am to 4 pm Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays. Brush and leaf drop off ends one hour before the transfer station closes. Day passes will be available again as of June 1st.

Transfer Station Update: As of March 16, 2020 the Woodstock Transfer Station will temporarily limit what will be accepted. The following is a list of acceptable items: Bagged Household Trash, Paper- newspaper; magazines; junk mail, Tin Cans and Metal Covers, Glass- food and drink containers, Plastic- food and drink containers, Waxed Cardboard- milk and juice containers, Metal. Cardboard such as cereal boxes can be placed with newspaper or regular trash. Corrugated cardboard must be flattened. Do not dispose of any cardboard over 3 feet by 3 feet square. Cut large pieces down to size. Mattresses. Drain oil. Antifreeze. Items currently not being accepted: Batteries, Appliances with Freon- refrigerators; freezers; A/C units; dehumidifiers, Fluorescent Light Bulbs, Used Clothing, Take it or Leave it Items, Bulky Waste, Tires, Propane Tanks. These are precautionary measures to help keep all residents and employees safe. Please adhere to these temporary restrictions. REMINDER: Maintain 6 feet between you and other people.

 **The Transfer Station is accepting mattresses and box springs in a recycling program. Please see the attendant before recycling. If they are not heavily soiled they can be recycled. If they are heavily soiled they are considered bulky waste and a fee will be charged.**

Function and Services

What We Do:

The Woodstock Transfer Station is located at 49 Paine District Road.  It is open to Woodstock Residents, Woodstock Property Owners and Woodstock Businesses Only.  It is a collection facility for municipal solid waste, and recyclables, brush, used batteries, waste oil, etc.


  • Monday-Tuesday-Thursday: 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Wednesday: 8:30am-6:00pm
  • Friday: closed

In addition, Special Permits can be purchased at the Transfer Station (during Transfer Station hours) from an attendant, payable by check only.  A receipt will be issued.

If you are renewing your sticker by mail, please send a copy of the vehicle registration along with a check made payable to "Town of Woodstock."
